Pelosi Shudders at Thought of Jordan as Speaker: Calls it ‘Appalling’!

In a recent appearance on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut,” Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) expressed her strong opposition to the idea of Jim Jordan becoming the next Speaker of the House. Pelosi criticized House Republicans for their lack of interest in the peaceful transfer of power and denial of the election results. She condemned the violence and desecration of the Capitol, calling it an assault on our democracy.

Pelosi denounced Jordan as a nominee for Speaker, describing it as “appalling.” She argued that Jordan and his Republican colleagues were doing a disservice to their own party by endorsing him. She questioned his lack of legislative accomplishments and highlighted his stance on abortion, claiming that he wants to criminalize a woman’s right to choose without exceptions. Pelosi attributed the support for Jordan to the influence of former President Donald Trump, whom she referred to as the “instigator of the insurrection.”

Despite Pelosi’s opposition, Jim Jordan’s bid for Speaker faced resistance from reluctant Republicans. The first ballot resulted in his rejection, and further voting was postponed as Republicans sought to secure enough support for Jordan to replace the ousted Kevin McCarthy. Some Republicans view Jordan as too extreme for the powerful position of House speaker. The subsequent votes were expected to take place on Wednesday.

The battle for the House speaker position has caused divisions among Republicans, with hard-liners pushing for Jordan’s candidacy. Jordan remained confident and expressed determination to secure more support in the upcoming rounds of voting. However, the process has turned into a bitter showdown, reflecting the ongoing turmoil within the Republican Party.
