Poll Reveals: Hunter’s Scandals Cast Doubt on Joe Biden’s Ethics

Investigations into Hunter Biden are sparking concern among conservatives who are skeptical of President Joe Biden’s ethics. President Biden’s son is facing scrutiny from the Justice Department and Republican members of Congress over allegations of a criminal scheme involving the then-Vice President Biden, as well as a separate indictment on gun charges.

A recent poll reveals that 35% of U.S. adults believe President Biden has done something illegal, while 33% believe he has acted unethically but not illegally, according to the Associated Press-NORC Research Center.

Led by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Republicans are conducting an investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine during his father’s tenure as vice president. The goal is to establish a connection between Hunter’s role as a board member for a Ukrainian oil and gas firm and his father’s influence.

Additionally, Hunter Biden was indicted on gun charges by special counsel David Weiss. He is accused of purchasing a firearm in violation of orders against drug users having guns. Hunter pleaded not guilty to all three counts.

Unsurprisingly, Republicans are more likely to believe that President Biden has engaged in illegal activities related to his son’s affairs. A whopping 65% of Republicans believe Biden did something illegal, while only 8% of Democrats share that sentiment. Among independents, 38% believe the president is guilty of some wrongdoing.

Last month, Republicans initiated an impeachment inquiry against President Biden, focusing on the legal implications of his son’s actions. However, the lack of evidence for impeachable offenses may impede the process.

While Republicans are pushing for further investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings, Americans as a whole are divided on the matter. The slim margin shows that 39% disapprove of the impeachment inquiry, while 33% approve. The party breakdown is as follows: 67% of Republicans support the inquiry, only 7% of Democrats agree, and 38% of independents are on board.

In the end, the investigations into Hunter Biden continue to be a source of controversy and skepticism among conservatives, who are questioning the ethics of President Biden and his family.
