Democrats and mainstream media have been busy spinning a yarn that suggests Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (we can just call it DOGE for fun) is as popular as a broken snow shovel in a blizzard. However, a recent poll has sent the liberals scrambling back to their safe spaces, exposing the fact that a whopping 83% of Americans believe the federal government needs to cut down on spending instead of gnawing at taxpayers’ wallets. It seems our tech billionaire hero isn’t the villain they tried to paint him as.
The Harvard CAPS/Harris poll surveyed nearly 2,500 registered voters and unveiled some jaw-dropping findings about Musk’s efforts and Trump’s agenda. While Musk’s personal favorability remains somewhat lukewarm at 44%, the enthusiasm for DOGE’s mission to streamline government spending is through the roof. A stunning 76% of Americans are in favor of a thorough audit of federal spending to weed out waste, fraud, and abuse. This is essentially taxpayers holding a big ol’ sign that says “Cut the nonsense!”
#New Poll: 70% Of Voters Support DOGE, Say Government Is Full Of Waste, Fraud, Abuse
A new Harvard/Harris Poll shows that the overwhelming majority of people say that they support DOGE’s mission to cut waste, fraud and abuse out of the federal government.

Even more impressive, around 70% of voters feel the current federal spending is stuffed to the brim with waste. Who could argue with that? It’s enough to make a person want to grab their checkbook and start tearing up receipts. And talk about a desire for radical change! Roughly 69% of folks want to see at least $1 trillion lopped off the federal budget. Apparently, frugality isn’t just a trait found in coupon-clipping grandmothers; it’s the sentiment of the majority.
In a twist that even Hollywood screenwriters couldn’t conceive, the poll also revealed that many people, 72% to be exact, support the creation of agencies like DOGE designed to enhance government efficiency. Perhaps in an attempt to prevent too much of their nefarious activities from getting exposed, 60% of respondents believe that DOGE has already made considerable cuts to federal spending. However, it seems the concern for privacy is alive and well, as a majority of voters want DOGE to have access to financial records while keeping personal information under tight wraps. Keep your secrets safe, government!
On a related note,Trump is apparently riding a wave of good news in the same poll, which recorded his job approval rating at a solid 52%. This puts him a touch ahead of the RealClearPolitics average. Voters are filling their notes with admiration for nearly all of Trump’s policies, while Democrats find themselves increasingly unpopular—perhaps a case of “what have you done for me lately,” if there ever was one. Meanwhile, well-known Democrats, including the former president and vice president, have been waving goodbye to their own approval ratings, resembling a sinking ship.
All this chatter has caught the attention of Trump’s White House, which is basking in the supportive glow of the recent findings. They jumped at the chance to showcase the robust backing for both Trump’s reforms and Musk’s endeavors to cut the fat from Uncle Sam’s wallet. Armed with this positive poll data, it’s clear that Trump and DOGE are aligned on a mission: make America great again by trimming the excess from the budget. One can only hope that they also enforce a firm moratorium on the nonsensical spending habits that have plagued Washington for far too long.
