Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently threw some political punches, suggesting that President Joe Biden should bring back the sanctions that Trump had put on the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2020. Why? Well, according to Pompeo, the ICC is about as trustworthy as a squirrel guarding a nut stash. He’s huffing and puffing, pointing out that the ICC is pointing fingers at Israel for defending itself, which in his book is like scolding a superhero for saving the day.
The ICC’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, made quite the announcement, aiming to charge Israeli big shots like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with war crimes over their handling of those pesky Hamas troublemakers in Gaza. This news didn’t sit well with Israel or the U.S., as it’s kind of like calling a firefighter a criminal for putting out a fire. Even Biden wasn’t too happy about it, but hey, he’s the one who clicked the “un-snap” button on Trump’s ICC sanctions, so he’s got some explaining to do.
Targeting Israel is the first step before the ICC comes after Americans.

Breitbart News, always ready with the popcorn, pointed out that both the U.S. and Israel never quite agreed to play ICC’s games in the first place. Trump saw the ICC eyeing U.S. soldiers and troops from allied nations for investigation like they were suspects at a magic show, so he slapped those sanctions on the ICC quicker than you can say “constitutional crisis.” But then Biden came along and reversed those sanctions, thinking he could tame the ICC like a wild stallion. Spoiler alert: it didn’t quite work out.
As the political volleyball game continues, Pompeo is raising a brow at Biden’s move, calling for those sanctions to jump back into action faster than a kangaroo on a trampoline. Whether Biden will backtrack and admit he might have gotten a little trigger happy with undoing Trump’s decisions remains to be seen. But hey, in politics, it’s never a dull moment – it’s more like a rollercoaster with unexpected turns and twists.
