Governor JB Pritzker just made a fool of himself on national television. The Illinois Democrat went on Stephen Colbert’s failing late-night show to lecture Texas about fair elections. But Colbert showed him maps of his own state that look like a child’s scribbles.
Illinois has some of the worst gerrymandered districts in America under Pritzker’s watch. The 4th district twists and turns like a pretzel to pack in as many Democrat voters as possible. Republicans only hold 3 out of 17 House seats in Illinois because Democrats rigged the game.
This is the same governor who promised to veto unfair maps during his campaign. Instead, he signed the most gerrymandered maps in the country drawn by his Democrat buddies behind closed doors. He lied straight to the faces of Illinois voters who trusted him.
Now Pritzker has the nerve to criticize Texas for trying to draw fair districts. He even offered to hide runaway Texas Democrats in Illinois like some kind of political smuggler. The hypocrisy is breathtaking even by Democrat standards.
When Colbert showed him the crazy-shaped districts, Pritzker just laughed it off. He joked that kindergarteners drew the maps and called it his independent commission. Real funny when you are stealing elections from hardworking Americans.
The truth is Democrats cannot win fair fights anymore. They have to rig the system by drawing districts that guarantee their victories. Pritzker knows his radical policies would never win in competitive elections.
Illinois families are suffering under Pritzker’s failed leadership while he plays politics on late-night TV. Crime is skyrocketing, taxes are crushing working families, and businesses are fleeing the state. But he is worried about Texas maps instead of fixing his own mess.
This is what happens when corrupt politicians think they are above the law. Pritzker believes he can lecture other states while rigging his own elections. Real Americans see right through his lies and hypocrisy.
