Now, as expected, once her identity was revealed, people were quick to ring up her school demanding some accountability. But instead of addressing the issue head-on, what did the school decide to do? They vanished into the digital abyss! They deleted their social media accounts and even their website, disappearing faster than you can say “internet mobs.” Their exit from the online world only added fuel to the fire, leaving everyone to wonder what they’re trying to hide. If anything, it adds a layer of suspicion and, let’s face it, guilt to the whole scenario.
But the drama did not stop there. This weekend seemed to host quite the collection of questionable statements and gestures. Amidst the chaos, another protester made headlines with a sign that had more than its share of colorful language, suggesting violence against a certain 47th president. These displays had conservatives shaking their heads in disbelief over the extreme lengths some will go to in their political disagreements. It’s as if civility flew out the window, along with the deleted web pages.
In the grand scheme of things, this protest and the characters it spotlighted serve as a reminder of the wild world we’re living in. From people moonlighting as provocative protesters to schools dodging the accountability bullet by hitting delete, it paints a pretty grim picture of modern-day political discourse. Because when some people show you who they truly are, by all means, believe them—monstrous signs and all.
