Russian military drones invaded Poland on Monday night in the most dangerous attack on NATO territory since Putin started his war in Ukraine. At least 19 enemy drones flew into Polish airspace for seven straight hours while NATO scrambled fighter jets to shoot them down. One drone even smashed into a Polish home, putting innocent families at risk.
This brazen assault shows Putin thinks he can push NATO around without consequences. The Russian dictator is testing our resolve and laughing at America’s weak leadership. He knows Joe Biden won’t do anything serious to stop him from terrorizing our European allies.
Poland had to invoke Article 4 of the NATO treaty, which means they feel directly threatened by Russian aggression. This is exactly what happens when America looks weak on the world stage. Our enemies smell weakness and they pounce on it like wolves.
The Polish military did what they had to do and shot down eight of Putin’s war machines with help from Dutch fighter jets. But this never should have happened in the first place. Putin only respects strength, and right now he sees nothing but weakness from Washington.
Russia claims they were just trying to hit Ukrainian targets and didn’t mean to attack Poland. That’s complete garbage and everyone knows it. You don’t accidentally send 19 military drones into NATO territory by mistake.
Putin is playing a dangerous game of chicken with the entire Western world. He’s betting that NATO countries are too scared to fight back against his bullying tactics. Every time we let him get away with this kind of attack, he gets bolder and more reckless.
American taxpayers have sent billions of dollars to defend democracy in Europe. Now we’re seeing Russian weapons literally hitting NATO territory and threatening our allies’ civilians. This is exactly why we need strong leadership that Putin actually fears.
The next president needs to make it crystal clear to Moscow that attacking NATO means attacking America. Until Putin faces real consequences for his actions, he’ll keep pushing the envelope until we’re all dragged into World War Three.
