Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is standing strong in his commitment to pardon President Trump, in what he believes is the best course of action for the country. The challenge arose when Biden’s hatchet man, Jack Smith, filed additional charges against Trump, including obstruction for allegedly attempting to delete security camera footage.
Ramaswamy adamantly defends Trump, arguing that the new indictment is a prime example of a crime that simply would not exist if not for the ongoing investigation. According to Ramaswamy, it would be both divisive and inappropriate to pursue these spurious “process” charges against any American president, not just Trump.
The Republican candidate has captivated the public’s attention with his charismatic delivery and unwavering support for Trump. He is unapologetic in his defense against what many conservatives perceive as a dangerous and terrifying escalation in politically motivated lawfare. Trump finds himself bombarded by an unprecedented flurry of federal and state indictments, which he and most Republicans view as a coordinated witch hunt aimed at derailing his campaign.
Unlike other primary challengers, Ramaswamy has been vocal about his intention to pardon Trump if elected as the next president. From his perspective, pardoning Trump is a matter of principle and a way to promote national unity and preserve America’s system of government. He firmly believes that imprisoning political opponents goes against the fabric of our society.

Although Republican frontrunner Ron DeSantis has shown some consideration towards a potential pardon, he has been more cautious in defending Trump against what he sees as political persecution. DeSantis contends that the charges brought against Trump are self-inflicted and merely serve as a distraction from the real issues at hand. He believes that focusing on trivial matters, such as a document left near a toilet at Mar-a-Lago, will not lead to a successful election outcome.
It is clear that Ramaswamy’s unwavering support for Trump sets him apart from other candidates. While some Republicans may be hesitant to fully embrace the idea of a pardon, Ramaswamy fearlessly stands by his principles and believes that moving the country forward means pardoning the former president and putting an end to what he views as a politically motivated persecution.
