In response to Trump's decision to retain Dr. Fauci, Paul criticized the former president. He stated that the government's response to the pandemic was negatively affected by Fauci's actions. He noted that the scientist's refusal to acknowledge the notion of natural immunity could have led to many deaths.
Senator Rand Paul stated that Fauci's presence on the pandemic committee was not necessary, as there were civil service rules that would prevent Trump from dismissing him. He also noted that the previous administration should have done more to marginalize him and push him out of the spotlight so that he could not spread misinformation and nonsense in the country.
During his appearance on Fox News, Senator Paul discussed the importance of having capable and unbiased individuals in leadership roles. Fauci's appointment on the pandemic committee did not seem beneficial, and the government must continue to look for people with the necessary qualifications to make accurate decisions.
