Twenty four years ago today, radical Islamic terrorists murdered 2,977 innocent Americans on our own soil. The brave first responders who rushed into danger that day remind us what real American heroes look like. On Thursday’s American Agenda, these patriots shared their memories of September 11th, 2001.
Former NYPD Detective Pat Brosnan and other first responders spoke about that terrible morning. They remembered running toward the towers while everyone else ran away. These men and women risked everything to save their fellow Americans.
NYPD Chief John Chell and Detective Michael Taylor talked about the unity America felt after the attacks. Back then, we stood together as one nation under God. We didn’t care about skin color or political party – we were all Americans.
The heroes of 9/11 show us what courage really means. They didn’t think twice about putting their lives on the line for strangers. Many of them are still suffering from illnesses they got at Ground Zero, but they never complain.
Today’s America needs to remember the lessons of September 11th. We face new threats from enemies who hate our freedom and our way of life. Our military and police deserve our full support, not the attacks they get from the radical left.
The terrorists thought they could break our spirit and destroy our country. Instead, they showed the world how strong Americans really are. We rebuilt Ground Zero and we hunted down the animals who attacked us.
We must never forget what happened on this day in 2001. Every American child should learn about the heroes who saved lives at the Twin Towers. Our schools should teach about American courage, not apologize for our greatness.
The first responders of 9/11 represent the best of America. They remind us that evil exists in this world, but good people will always fight back. We honor their sacrifice by staying strong and keeping America safe.
