Rep. Gill Calls Out Dems for Cheering Against America

Rep. Brandon Gill slammed the Democrat playbook on Thursday during an appearance on Newsmax’s The Big Take, calling out a party that too often seems to cheer for America’s setbacks instead of its successes. Americans are tired of leaders who prioritize partisan Schadenfreude over national strength, and Gill didn’t mince words when he described Democrats as effectively “rooting against” the country’s interests.

On the program Gill argued that the United States has already done the hard work on the Iran front and that the focus should now shift to stabilizing oil markets and rallying our allies to secure long-term gains for American workers and national security. His message was clear: defend American interests first and stop rewarding weakness with hollow moralizing.

This line of attack isn’t unique to Gill — conservatives from the Senate floor to cable news have watched Democrats reflexively oppose American initiatives and labeled it what it is: rooting for failure. That’s not mere rhetoric; it’s a worldview that punishes strength and rewards grievance, and Republicans are right to call it out.

Gill’s tough-on-immigration stance proves he’s not just talking — he’s legislating. He introduced the Somalia Immigration Moratorium Act, a 25-year pause intended to protect taxpayers, national security, and the integrity of our immigration system after troubling fraud and assimilation concerns were exposed. If Democrats truly cared about the American people, they’d back policies that put citizens first instead of lecturing from coastal bubble towns.

Predictably, the Left tried to paint Gill as a villain for standing up to mass migration, even dredging up his family ties to distract from the real debate about assimilation and public safety. The outrage machine will always prefer smears to solutions, but courageous conservatives like Gill keep the conversation where it belongs — on policy, not performative guilt.

Hardworking Americans want patriotism, secure borders, and a government that serves citizens instead of importing problems. Rep. Gill is doing what too many in Washington won’t: defending the nation and challenging an opposition that often seems to root for America to suffer political embarrassment rather than to thrive.

If conservatives stand behind leaders who fight for real results — secure borders, energy independence, and a foreign policy that puts America first — we can reclaim a sense of shared purpose and common-sense governance. The time for timid virtue-signaling is over; patriotic Americans must back policymakers who defend the republic and demand accountability from those who would undermine it.
