The focal point: the controversial deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident sent to El Salvador despite a court order protecting him from removal. Collins pressed Trump on why he wouldn’t honor the Supreme Court’s directive to facilitate Garcia’s return, but Trump, true to form, flipped the script—using the moment to lambast both CNN’s credibility and the media’s “obsession” with defending alleged criminals.
Trump’s approach was both strategic and effective.
