At a sprightly 42-year-old, Lara is married to Eric Trump and has been actively involved in Republican circles, currently co-chairing the Republican National Committee. Her involvement in the political realm isn’t new. She reportedly considered a run for a Senate seat in North Carolina back in 2021 but chose to step back from that race. This time, the stakes are higher as she could find herself in a position of great influence in the Sunshine State.
While Lara Trump seems to be Scott’s preference, there are other contenders in the mix, including close allies of DeSantis. Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, and even DeSantis’ chief of staff, James Uthmeier, are being considered.
