In a bold proclamation of their conservative principles, Studio 8 Hair Lab in Traverse City, Michigan has taken a stand against the “non-binary” movement by refusing to serve customers who identify as anything other than a man or a woman. Talk about taking a snip at political correctness!

Salon owner Christine Geiger made her position clear in a now-deleted Facebook post, encouraging those who identify as non-binary to seek the services of a pet groomer instead. While this might seem like a drastic measure to some, Geiger believes that hair services should be reserved for humans who know how to properly identify themselves. It’s as simple as that, folks!

In the post, Geiger also addressed the issue of preferred pronouns, stating that if customers request a specific pronoun, they may simply be referred to as “hey you.” Now, that’s what you call an inclusive policy! Geiger is clearly a champion of free speech and believes that her small business should have the right to refuse services to anyone she pleases, just like realtors who discriminate. She’s making the hair salon great again, one scissor snip at a time!
It’s worth noting that Geiger’s salon proudly labels itself as a “private CONSERVATIVE business that does not cater to woke ideologies” on Instagram. Bravo, Studio 8 Hair Lab, for standing up against those pesky woke agendas! Who needs inclusivity and respect for all when you can have an exclusive salon service tailored specifically for those who align with conservative values? It’s like a MAGA hat for your hair!
Now, this hair-raising tale takes an interesting turn when you consider Michigan’s HB 4744. Under this proposed bill, intentionally using the wrong gender pronouns could become a felony offense, punishable by up to five years in jail or a $10,000 fine. Talk about a Big Brother move by the state government! But fear not, because Geiger’s salon stands as a symbol of resistance against such heavy-handed legislation, reminding us that individual liberty and freedom of expression still have a place in America.
In another victory for conservatives, the United States Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of a Christian website designer who refused to create same-sex wedding websites. The case of 303 Creative v. Elenis showcased the importance of protecting religious beliefs and the right to decline service based on conscientious objection. As Justice Neil Gorsuch eloquently stated in his majority opinion, there’s no way we can have two different versions of reality when it comes to freedom of expression. We can’t force someone to go against their beliefs just to appease the woke masses!
So, here’s to Studio 8 Hair Lab for taking a stand against the non-binary movement! Their refusal to cater to woke ideologies and their commitment to free speech is a shining example of how small businesses can make a difference.
