Save Our Sons: Recruit Conservative Male Teachers Now

Tom Basile was exactly right on America Right Now when he called out the rotting rot of liberal bias in our schools and warned that it is actively challenging traditional masculinity. Too many classrooms have become ideological kiddie camps where boys are mocked and real, time-tested virtues are treated like outmoded hatreds. Basile urged conservatives to stop whining and start showing up — including more principled, conservative men in the classroom to push back against the woke pipeline.

The evidence that our institutions are tilted and hostile to dissenting views is not just conservative whine — it is documented across campus surveys showing widespread self-censorship and a climate that rewards conformity over inquiry. Faculty and students who lean right increasingly hide their views because speaking honestly can cost careers and reputations, which explains why honest debate has evaporated from many college campuses. This is not a theoretical problem; it is a crisis of free expression that corrodes character in young men who need courage modeled, not canceled.

Meanwhile, America is suffering a severe shortage of male teachers at the very moment boys need positive male role models more than ever. Men now make up only about a quarter of K–12 teachers, with far fewer in elementary grades where formative habits are formed, and that gap has widened for decades as teaching became feminized and undervalued. We cannot pretend there will be no consequences when a generation of boys grows up with almost no men in their everyday educational lives.

Conservative men in classrooms are not some nostalgic affectation; they are practical medicine for communities where fatherlessness and cultural confusion are driving boys to underperform and drop out. Research and education advocates show that increasing the number of male teachers correlates with better outcomes for boys and gives schools a fuller range of disciplinary and moral leadership. If conservatives want to save schools, we should recruit and reward men who will teach with discipline, faith, and respect for traditional virtues, not apologies for them.

Tom Basile’s call for action — from protecting students and teachers who dissent to pushing back against toxic foreign influence and woke donor money — should be a rallying cry for parents and patriots. Schools that take taxpayer dollars must be held to standards of intellectual neutrality and fairness, and donors should withhold funds from institutions that indoctrinate rather than educate. The left has weaponized our schools; it’s time conservatives weaponize the truth, standards, and a pipeline of strong male educators who will stand up for boys and the nation.

Patriots, this fight is about more than curriculum; it’s about the next generation’s capacity to work, lead, and love their country. We need men of conviction in front of blackboards and on the sidelines, teaching toughness, responsibility, and faith by example. The left can have its fashionable theory classes and performative sensitivity trainings — conservatives will build classrooms where boys learn to be men, and where America’s best values are passed on without apology.
