Scalise Attacks Reid for Anti-Trump Bias During GOP Convention

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) is throwing some well-deserved shade at MSNBC host Joy Reid. Reid, in her infinite wisdom, decided to air her concerns about former President Donald Trump potentially rewriting himself as both a “hero” and “victim.” She even suggested the need for so-called “guardians of memory” to protect the public from Trump’s narrative. Funny how the Guardians of Memory club didn’t have an application process, isn’t it?

Reid made these comments during her coverage of the first night of the Republican National Convention, fresh off the heels of an assassination attempt against Trump. Instead of addressing real issues, Reid seemed more worried about the potential for Trump to rise from the political ashes like a phoenix, stealing the spotlight and rewriting history in his favor. Her diatribe sounded more paranoid than precautionary.

Scalise didn’t waste any time dismantling Reid’s lofty claims. Speaking with Laura Ingraham, he pointed out the laughable irony of individuals who routinely sow division posing as the “guardians of memory.” The heartland of America is fed up with soaring grocery prices, open borders, and the daily onslaught of Leftist drivel. Meanwhile, Trump sticks to discussing these everyday concerns, the ones that actually matter. That’s probably why the Left is so desperate to change the subject with their wild anti-Trump rhetoric.

Drawing a spot-on comparison, Scalise likened the current political climate to the days of Jimmy Carter’s “malaise,” which eventually brought Ronald Reagan to the rescue. Biden’s presidency, Scalise asserted, makes the Carter years look like a cakewalk. If history teaches anything, it’s that Americans know when to turn to stronger leadership, and Donald Trump is ready to swoop in with answers.

Trump’s presidency delivered four years of economic strength and opportunities, benefitting Americans across the board. Scalise confidently noted that Trump is even more focused now on the critical issues that matter to the electorate: securing the border and addressing Biden’s blunders. The Republican energy and unity are unprecedented, and it’s clear that they’re rallying behind Trump, who remains a beacon of strong leadership.

In a landscape muddled by left-wing rhetoric and distraction tactics, it’s refreshing to see someone like Scalise cut through the noise with a dose of reality. The American public isn’t fooled. They want real solutions, and if history is any guide, they’re going to turn to the leader who can provide them—Donald J. Trump.
