The murder of Charlie Kirk has exposed the ugly truth about what’s happening in our schools. This brave conservative leader was gunned down at Utah Valley University while simply talking to students about politics. He was killed while doing what he loved most – having honest conversations with young Americans about freedom and conservative values. His death is a tragedy that should unite all Americans in grief.
Instead, hundreds of so-called educators celebrated this assassination on social media. Teachers and professors across the country posted vile messages cheering Kirk’s death. One teacher even called him “garbage” and celebrated that he was shot down. These are the people we trust with our children every single day.
Education Secretary Linda McMahon is absolutely right to call these responses “abhorrent.” She praised schools that fired these radical teachers and demanded others do the same. McMahon knows what every parent fears – that our schools have been taken over by leftist extremists who hate conservative Americans. These teachers showed their true colors when they celebrated political murder.
The numbers tell the whole story. Texas alone received 180 complaints about teachers celebrating Kirk’s death. Schools in multiple states have suspended or fired educators for their disgusting posts. Florida and Oklahoma are threatening to strip teaching licenses from anyone who glorified this violence. Finally, some accountability is coming to our broken education system.
McMahon warned that this “small but vocal fringe” represents a much bigger problem. Our universities and schools have become “cradles of intolerance and political violence” against conservatives. Students don’t feel safe on campus anymore if they dare to speak up for traditional American values. The ideological capture of education is destroying our country from within.
President Trump has already ordered increased security for all Cabinet members after Kirk’s murder. McMahon is calling on Congress to boost security funding too. Conservative leaders are literally being hunted down by violent leftists while teachers cheer from the sidelines. This is not the America our founders envisioned.
Charlie Kirk’s widow announced that Turning Point USA will continue their campus tours despite this tragedy. These brave conservatives refuse to be silenced by violence and intimidation. They’re showing the courage that built this great nation. Their next stop is Colorado State University on September 30th.
The time has come to take back our schools from these radical extremists. Parents must demand accountability from every teacher and administrator. We cannot allow the people who celebrated a political assassination to continue poisoning our children’s minds. America’s future depends on cleaning house in our education system once and for all.
