In a rather amusing display of selective outrage, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer recently expressed his disgust over former President Trump’s comments regarding the tragic collision between a military helicopter and a commercial plane near Washington, D.C. While the liberal elite were clutching their pearls over Trump’s alleged “conspiracy theories,” it appears they’d rather bury their heads in the sand than address the very real issues around the Biden administration’s disastrous policies.
Trump’s declaration that “horrible” diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies from previous administrations took part in the unfortunate crash was met with immediate disdain by the left. In typical fashion, Schumer was quick to label Trump’s rhetoric as “speculation” and “idle.” Apparently, for Schumer and his ilk, it’s only acceptable to speak about the consequences of current policies far after the fact—ideally, when an election is around the corner and the public’s memory has faded.
In a world where common sense has been thrown out the window, Trump’s assertion that stricter standards for aviation safety were compromised under the Biden regime has gone unheard—or ignored—by the Democratic leaders. Everyone knows that strengthened protocols are essential, but when it comes to the reality of DEI practices infiltrating our aviation system, it’s as though the left prefers to play the blame game rather than consider the possibility that their pet policies could have had dire consequences.

Interestingly, it seems that some Republicans aren’t entirely onboard with Trump’s narrative yet understand the need for thorough investigation. Notably, Senate Majority Leader John Thune stated that the reasons behind this tragic incident remain unclear and that Congress and federal agencies are on the case. If only the Democrats could channel such unyielding determination into addressing the looming failures of their own policies instead of trying to score political points off of a tragedy.
In the end, while Schumer and other Democrats continue their campaigns against free thought, it would serve them well to realize that many Americans are looking for accountability. If that means calling out the mishaps of diversity-obsessed policies that may compromise safety, then so be it. After all, isn’t it wild how the left is always ready to fight against common sense when it doesn’t fit their narrative?
