Secret Service Prioritizes Diversity Over Safety Says Sen Marshall After Trump Attack

The U.S. Secret Service has found themselves in hot water once again, and this time it’s not just because they failed to do their job in protecting former President Donald Trump. According to Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), the Secret Service is more concerned with diversity, equity, and inclusion than actually carrying out their mission.

Marshall, who spoke with President Trump after the failed assassination attempt, believes that it was only by the grace of God that Trump’s life was spared. He marvels at the fact that the assassin managed to miss Trump’s head and instead only grazed his ear. “I don’t know how you place a bullet through his ear and miss his head. I really don’t,” Marshall remarks. It seems that divine intervention played a role in saving the former president’s life.

But the problems with the Secret Service go beyond their failure to protect Trump. Marshall points out that there is a clear cultural issue within the agency. Members of Congress even attempted to chase down Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle after spotting her at the Republican National Convention. This goes to show just how big of a failure the whole incident was.

During a phone call with the Secret Service, Marshall discovered that they had known about the attempted assassin and his suspicious activities prior to the attack. They had even broken into his phone to gather information. But despite this knowledge, they did nothing to detain him. Marshall believes that if they had simply stopped and questioned him about the rangefinder he was carrying, they could have prevented the entire incident.

It’s clear that the Secret Service’s priorities are completely skewed. Marshall notes that half of the officers have quit within the past year, and a big part of the problem is their obsession with diversity, equity, and inclusion. Rather than focusing on their mission, they are more concerned with checking boxes and fulfilling some political agenda.

This is why Americans don’t trust the federal government. The Secret Service’s failure to protect the former president and their misplaced priorities are indicative of a larger issue within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a whole. Marshall calls into question the trust and respect that the rank-and-file officers have for their superiors. It’s clear that something needs to change within the agency in order to restore faith in our federal government.
