Sen. Tim Scott Warns Debate Moderators May Favor Biden

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) made a prediction on Sunday, saying that the moderators of the presidential debates will try to help President Joe Biden, who is running for re-election this November. He commented on this just days after the president and former President Donald Trump, the expected nominee for the Republican Party, agreed to participate in two debates, with the first one set to happen next month.

Scott claims that Biden is “so afraid of debating” with Trump and believes that Biden wants the moderators to assist him during the debates. He spoke about this on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. Scott expressed displeasure with the rules Biden is setting for the debates and praised Trump for being open to debating anytime and anywhere. Scott also suggested that both candidates should take drug tests before the debates.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) also supports the idea of drug tests for the candidates, especially since Biden has the authority to launch nuclear weapons. Trump has also mentioned the idea of Biden taking a drug test before the debate.

The first presidential debate is scheduled to be held on June 27 on CNN, which is considered an early start. A second debate is planned for Sept. 10 on ABC. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki has predicted that Trump might back out of the debates despite agreeing to most of the guidelines. Psaki suggested that Trump may claim that he never agreed to specific guidelines as an excuse to not participate in the debates.
