Senate GOP Fails America: Outrage Grows Over Judicial Nominee Delays

America’s patriots should be outraged — and we are hearing that outrage from seasoned hands in the law. On Wednesday Victoria Toensing and Joe diGenova told listeners on The Chris Salcedo Show that it’s “disgusting” Republicans have let President Trump’s U.S. attorney and judicial nominees languish while crime and corruption fester in blue states.

The numbers are stark and embarrassing for Senate Republicans: only three U.S. attorneys confirmed so far while Democrats under Biden moved far faster, and Senator Thune sits on a working majority that could fix this immediately. Toensing bluntly said Thune has the votes and should refuse to let the Senate go home for the holidays until these confirmations are done — a simple, common-sense demand that protects communities and restores law and order.

The so-called “blue slip” custom has become a weapon of obstruction, letting Democratic senators veto nominees for purely partisan reasons and leaving crucial prosecutor slots empty. The ugly result was the court-sanctioned exit of Alina Habba in New Jersey after sustained blocking and legal fights, a predictable merciless scramble that shows what happens when the left and sympathetic judges team up to thwart accountability.

If Senate leaders truly believe in putting America first, they will use their majority to change the rules and move nominations en masse rather than bow to outdated niceties that the radical left exploits. Senator Thune has the authority to push reforms and has publicly signaled willingness to change procedures to prevent Democrat stalling — now is the time for action, not press conferences or excuses.

Conservative voters must demand results: call your senators, show up at town halls, and tell Republican leaders to stop cultivating the appearance of power and start exercising it. These nominations are not trivia — they are the bedrock of public safety, federal integrity, and respect for the rule of law; if Republicans won’t finish the job, they will deserve the blame at the ballot box.
