In a hilarious turn of events, Senate Democrats tried to pass a bill called the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act, but it was shot down faster than a chicken on its way to the deep fryer. Louisiana Senator John Kennedy, who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, declared that the bill was “dead as fried chicken.” Can you believe it? Even the senator’s analogy is making us hungry!
And he wasn’t the only one having fun at the press conference. Texas Senator Ted Cruz added to the chicken-themed humor by promising to buy fried chicken for any reporter who used the phrase. Now that’s what I call political incentives!

But let’s get to the heart of the matter. The Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act was proposed by Rhode Island Democrat Sheldon White House after a left-wing outlet reported that Justice Clarence Thomas took some fancy trips with a conservative mega donor. Democrats were quick to pounce on Thomas, accusing him of unethical behavior. But hold on just a minute! South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham had a bone to pick with his Democratic colleagues. He pointed out that they had no problem when the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg engaged in some questionable behavior of her own.
Graham mentioned how Ginsburg happily accepted a $1 million award for an organization of her choosing. Talk about a hefty prize! And she even donated a signed copy of one of her rulings to a pro-abortion group, the National Organization for Women. I guess she thought her signature was worth a pretty penny! But where were the Democrats’ voices of concern then? Hypocrisy, thy name is Democratic Party.
Oh, how the tables turn! Graham cleverly suggested that the Democrats wouldn’t be so lenient if Justice Samuel Alito wanted to donate one of his rulings to a pro-life group. You can almost hear the crickets chirping in the Democratic camp.
So, there you have it, folks. The Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act has bitten the dust. As much as the left loves to create new rules for everyone else, it seems they’re not too keen on applying those rules to themselves. But hey, at least we got a good laugh out of it. Now, who’s up for some fried chicken?
