Senate’s New Bill: Open Borders & Spousal Free-For-All!

Get ready folks, because the crazy train is pulling into the station with the latest immigration bill introduced in the Senate. Hold on to your hats, because this one is a doozy. The Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2024, as it’s oh-so-creatively named, has some interesting provisions that are sure to make you scratch your head.

First off, get this: the bill would allow the foreign spouses, fiancés, and fiancées of U.S. citizens to automatically work in the country legally. Yep, you heard that right. We’re just gonna let anyone and everyone who is married to an American start working in our country like it’s no big deal. Who needs immigration laws anyway, right?

But that’s not all, folks. This 370-page monstrosity of a bill also appropriates over $118 billion for new spending on border security. Now, don’t get me wrong, border security is important, but let’s not forget that this bill is trying to sneak in some other goodies too. Like giving aid to Ukraine during its war against Russia and aid to Israel during its conflict with Hamas. Can someone please explain to me how these things are related to border security?

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But what about legal immigration?” Well, don’t you worry, because this bill has got that covered too. It includes sweeping new regulatory reforms governing both asylum and legal immigration. And what’s the most pressing issue in legal immigration that needs to be addressed, you ask? Apparently, it’s making sure that the foreign spouses and children of H-1B visa holders can work. Because nothing says “national security” like making sure teenagers can get a job, right?

Look, I get it. We want to be compassionate and allow families to stay together. But let’s not throw the rulebook out the window while we’re at it. We have immigration laws for a reason, and they should be enforced. Allowing foreign spouses, fiancés, and fiancées to automatically work in the country just undermines the integrity of our immigration system.

So buckle up, folks, because this immigration bill is just another example of politicians trying to push their own agenda without considering the consequences. We need sensible immigration reform that prioritizes the safety and security of our country, not a free-for-all that undermines the rule of law. It’s time for our elected officials to get their act together and start putting America first.
