Sen. John Kennedy Strikes Again: Exposing Biden’s Questionable Judicial Nominees
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) continues to be a shining star on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he consistently reveals the lack of knowledge and liberal activism present in Joe Biden’s judicial picks. Kennedy, known for his straightforward approach and knack for asking fundamental legal questions, recently took two more of Biden’s nominees to task.
Karla Campbell, a labor lawyer nominated for the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, came under fire from Kennedy for misleading Republicans on the committee about her ties to a far-left group known as Workers’ Dignity. After initially denying any involvement with the organization, Campbell eventually confessed to her past advisory role. Meanwhile, Julia Lipez, Biden’s nominee for the U.S. 1st Circuit Court of Appeals, faced intense scrutiny from Kennedy over her handling of a child sexual abuse case.
A monster molested 4- and 9-year-old girls.
Lipez called him “a person who has a lot of good in him” and suspended half of his jail sentence, giving him only 6 years behind bars.

Lipez’s decision to halve the 12-year sentence of Michael T. Smith, a predator who traumatized two young victims, raised serious concerns. Despite the children’s horrifying testimonies and the lasting impact of the abuse on their lives, Lipez chose to downplay the severity of the crimes and praised Smith as a “good” person.
Soft-on-crime judges, especially those lenient in cases of sexual abuse involving minors, have no place in our legal system. Biden’s nomination of Lipez reflects poorly on his judgment, and credit is due to Kennedy, Senator Ted Cruz, and other GOP members for shedding light on her concerning track record. It is high time for Americans to demand accountability and integrity in our judiciary, and Kennedy is leading the charge in ensuring only the most qualified and just individuals are appointed to the bench.
