California Sheriff Mike Boudreaux has taken a bold stand against what can only be described as the political equivalent of ‘identity theft’—Kamala Harris using his image in a campaign ad touting her nonexistent border security credentials. This ad features footage from a 2013 visit when Harris was California’s Attorney General, and while Boudreaux can’t remember every detail from that day, he certainly remembers the vibe, which wasn’t a welcoming one.
In the ad that is apparently more fiction than fact, Harris promises to beef up security at the border, hire thousands more border agents, and tackle the opioid crisis. Those are noble goals—if only they weren’t coming from a politician who has spent the better part of her career turning a blind eye to the very issues she now claims to champion. Sheriff Boudreaux has made it crystal clear both through his actions and statements that he does not endorse Harris for any office, leaving the impression that he finds her claims about combatting crime as believable as a three-legged unicorn.
Boudreaux pointed out that the ad’s assertions about Harris being a long-time crusader against violent crime are as misleading as politicians’ promises during election campaigns. He detailed how her previous accolades revolve around a grandstanding visit to the Central Valley regarding a drug operation—which, spoiler alert, didn’t lead to any actual results. It’s hard to believe she’s serious about border security when her own track record resembles a sieve with even bigger holes, allowing waves of illegal immigration to flow freely.
Sheriff Boudreaux found the ad infuriating, purely because Harris seems to have convinced herself she was doing more than just showing off her latest hairstyle. He recalls how she breezed into the green room, utterly uninterested in the people working hard on the ground. Not a single handshake, not a single hello—just a self-congratulatory performance before she left as abruptly as she arrived. Boudreaux’s frustration is palpable; it’s hard not to chuckle at the idea of Harris claiming fame for the efforts of dedicated local law enforcement while barely acknowledging their existence.

The political landscape is tightening as the Biden administration grapples with plummeting approval ratings because of an unmanageable border crisis, and Harris’s attempts to take center stage will only add fuel to the fire. Any research on her past would reveal the glaring disconnect between her rhetoric and reality. As Boudreaux pointed out, Harris’s portrayal is nothing more than “smoke and mirrors.” With this ad acting as a desperate last-ditch effort, it’s painfully clear: when it comes to Harris and border security, it’s all show and no substance.
