Staff ReportsDemocrats continue to showcase their utter disregard for decorum and common sense. Just observe the tirade unleashed by Senator Elissa Slotkin against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Slotkin’s questions during the recent Senate Armed Services Committee hearing were so outlandish they bordered on theater—or maybe it was all just a leftist ploy to vilify our military once again.
Slotkin’s interrogation resembled a well-rehearsed tantrum aimed more at scoring political points than seeking real answers. Instead of sticking to the budget, Slotkin threw ridiculous accusations about orders to shoot unarmed protesters. She even went as far as to declare that President Trump’s administration was behind such orders. Really? Slotkin seemed more interested in conjuring up sinister tales than assisting in the business of safeguarding the country.
Our military leaders deserve respect, yet Slotkin chose the low road, berating Hegseth with comments about his predecessor having more mettle. Here’s a newsflash for her: questioning the backbone of those who serve only underscores her own weakness. Ironically, while Slotkin accuses others of not understanding America, she misses the mark entirely on what this country values—respect, law and order, and the truth.

Then there was her bizarre query about whether military cyber tools were deployed against protestors. It’s the kind of paranoid fantasy that could only come out of the feverish imagination of someone looking to sling mud at those keeping our nation safe and secure. Hegseth was left to address these wild accusations, dodging rhetorical bombs like a pro, without losing his cool.
It’s high time liberals like Slotkin quit their grandstanding and start working alongside military and law enforcement to support the law of the land. Instead, they’re fueling protests, scornfully looking down at those risking everything to uphold peace. The left keeps showing they would rather bicker and spread baseless fears than promote unity and support the real protectors of our society. When will they finally wake up to reality?
