John Rourke, the owner of Blue Line Moving, embarked on his annual cleanup at the border and documented his disturbing findings. Rourke has been dedicating his time on every September 11 to clean up the border, and this year is no exception. In addition, he raises money and donates it to the local sheriff’s department for the towns he cleans up.
Rourke described the situation at the border as “life-changing.” He mentioned seeing clothes scattered everywhere, trash covering the area, and even wild dogs left behind by migrants. It is truly an emergency, and Rourke feels compelled to help. He goes on his cleanup missions for three days straight, tirelessly picking up trash and doing what he can to make a difference.

During a recent visit to Brownsville, Texas, Rourke previewed some of his findings. In a shared video, he highlighted the method used by migrants to cross the border. They are known to pile trash on top of the razor wire, creating a makeshift bridge that allows them to step right over. Rourke showed various items he discovered during his cleanup, including birth control pills, pills, clothing, shoes, backpacks, and IDs.
