Joe Biden’s struggling presidency has faced a tremendous amount of criticism, even from those who were once harsh critics of former President Donald Trump. One surprising individual to change his tune is rapper Snoop Dogg, who had previously ripped into Trump, calling him a “f***ing weirdo.” However, Snoop now seems to appreciate the former president’s actions.
Snoop Dogg expressed his gratitude towards Trump, stating that the former president “has done only great things for me.” Specifically, Snoop highlighted Trump’s pardon of Michael Harris, who played a significant role in the creation of Snoop’s record label, Death Row. Harris had been imprisoned for drug offenses, but Trump pardoned him before leaving office in January 2021.

This newfound praise for Trump is quite a departure from the rapper’s previous vitriolic attacks on the former president and his supporters. In a 2017 music video, Snoop depicted Trump as a clown and even simulated shooting him in the head. Snoop’s insults continued in 2020 when he criticized Trump and his followers in explicit language.
However, Snoop’s feelings towards President Biden have soured over time. In July 2022, the rapper mocked Biden’s mental acuity by promoting a brand of marijuana named “Sleepy Joe OG,” which featured a picture of the president looking confused. The packaging also included flags of Ukraine, China, and Russia, alluding to Biden’s alleged weaknesses on the world stage.
When asked if he plans to endorse Trump in the upcoming election, Snoop replied that he might, but he is wary of the potential backlash he may face. Nevertheless, his support for Trump places him among a growing list of rappers who have either directly or indirectly expressed their approval for the 45th president, despite previously being vocal critics. This shift in sentiment may reflect the widespread disillusionment with President Biden’s leadership, evident through his declining approval ratings and numerous issues facing the country.
