Nine extreme left-wing House Democrats voted against a resolution that expressed support for Israel and condemned the terrorist attacks by Hamas. The resolution, titled “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists,” was the top priority for incoming Speaker Mike Johnson. As expected, members of the Squad, known for their radical views, opposed the resolution with their usual outcry. However, despite their protestations, the measure passed with overwhelming bipartisan support.
The ten members who voted against the resolution included six of the eight Squad members, who have consistently pushed their far-left agenda: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Jamaal Bowman, Summer Lee, and Cori Bush. They were joined by André Carson, Al Green, and Delia Ramirez. The remaining Squad members, Greg Casar and Ayanna Pressley, along with a few more Democrats, voted “present.”
Last night, the House of Representatives passed H.Res.771.
This is a resolution to stand with Israel as it defends against the barbaric war launched by Hamas/other terrorists.
This should have been a no-brainer for members.

One lone Republican, Thomas Massie, voted against the resolution out of concern that it could escalate the conflict. However, he still condemned the Hamas attack and acknowledged Israel’s right to defend itself, which sets him apart from some Squad members.
Representative Jason Smith, Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, did not hold back in his criticism of the nine Democrats. He called them a disgrace and highlighted the failure of Cori Bush, who advocates for defunding the police, to address the high murder rates in her own district. Smith emphasized that these individuals are irrational and intent on tearing down our society while promoting false narratives. He further condemned their support for terrorists responsible for killing Jewish people, likening it to Holocaust denial.
Rashida Tlaib, one of the Squad members, tried to justify her vote by claiming she opposes the killing of civilians and that the resolution was one-sided. Ilhan Omar echoed a similar sentiment, criticizing the resolution for not acknowledging Israeli military actions and its failure to address the alleged “collective punishment” of Palestinians. However, their justifications conveniently overlook the fact that Israel was the victim of a brutal and unprovoked attack. It is clear that the Squad’s response to this act of terrorism and their antisemitic rhetoric has outraged people across the political spectrum. As they continue to speak out, they only further expose their extreme and morally bankrupt agenda.
