State Attorneys General Pursue Fauci Despite Biden Pardon in Pandemic Handling Probe

A coalition of 17 state attorneys general is taking aim at Dr. Anthony Fauci’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic response, despite the preemptive pardon he received from former President Biden. It appears that even a presidential pardon can’t shield Fauci from being scrutinized like a suspect in a cheap detective novel. Led by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, this group is boldly seeking to gather all necessary information from Congress to bolster their case against Fauci, who comes armed with a questionable legacy and a track record more mixed than a half-baked smoothie.

Wilson and his team have actively reached out to congressional leaders, namely House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, requesting all relevant details from federal investigations into Fauci’s conduct. This move sends a clear message: it’s time to reopen the case on “America’s Doctor.” The attorneys general emphasize that Biden’s pardon doesn’t grant Fauci a free pass when it comes to state-level investigations or the pesky little idea of accountability. They are poised to dive deep into any alleged malfeasance with a commitment that rivals a kid at a candy store.

The attorneys general are particularly interested in a scandalous report released by the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in December 2024, which unveiled a plethora of inconsistencies in the handling of the pandemic. Fauci’s name came up more times than an annoying infomercial, with accusations ranging from discrediting the lab leak theory to lying about the NIH funding for gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. If these findings pan out, it could lend significant weight to the chorus of lawmakers who have called for criminal charges against Fauci—just imagine the drama unfolding if this reaches a courtroom.

Biden’s decision to pardon Fauci has been described as a “shameful attempt to prevent accountability” by AG Wilson, who also hinted that such a pardon might even suggest guilt. The notion that a blanket pardon serves as a shield from consequences poses a direct challenge to the principle of justice. After all, if the intentions were so pure, why the need for haste? The attorneys general stand ready to act if the evidence shows any breaches of state laws, making it clear that while Fauci may dodge federal prosecution, state charges might still be lurking around the corner like a freight train.

As this saga unfolds, it seems there is still hope for those who demand accountability from the past administration’s so-called public health experts. With the determination of these state attorneys general, America might witness the unmasking of more than just Fauci’s questionable practices; it sets a precedent for reassessing how public health decisions are made in the future. The fight for transparency continues, and perhaps, just perhaps, it will signal a new dawn in holding public officials responsible for their actions, regardless of how many accolades they’ve received on their watch.
