This past Sunday, Rep. Nancy Mace found herself in a truly outrageous situation when George Stephanopoulos decided it was appropriate to bring up Mace’s past experience with rape during their interview. The audacity of this so-called journalist to use such a sensitive and personal topic to try and shame Mace for her political beliefs is beyond despicable. Stephanopoulos, a former aide to Bill Clinton, a man with his own sordid history of sexual misconduct allegations, has no grounds to stand on when it comes to questioning Mace’s support for Donald Trump.
It’s mind-boggling that Stephanopoulos would stoop so low as to use Mace’s traumatic experience as a political weapon. Rape is a heinous crime that should never be weaponized for political gain. Regardless of Mace’s political affiliations, her personal history should be off-limits. Stephanopoulos’ biased and unprofessional behavior highlights the double standard that exists in the media when it comes to holding politicians accountable for their actions.
What a complete jerk Stephanopoulos is

Let’s not forget that while Stephanopoulos openly supports Joe Biden, a man who has faced his own allegations of sexual assault, he has the audacity to question Mace’s decision to support Trump, who has never been charged with any sexual crimes. The hypocrisy is glaring, and it’s a stark reminder of the biased and unfair treatment conservative women face in the media.
Mace has stood her ground and rightfully called out Stephanopoulos for his inappropriate line of questioning. Regardless of one’s political beliefs, decency and respect should always come first. Stephanopoulos owes Mace an apology, and ABC News should take action against his unacceptable behavior. It’s time for the media to hold themselves to the same standards they demand from others.
In a world where integrity and respect seem to be in short supply, it’s refreshing to see Mace stand up against such blatant disregard for decency. While Mace may not align with all conservative values, her courage in standing up to Stephanopoulos deserves recognition. Let’s hope that this incident serves as a wake-up call for the media to prioritize ethics over sensationalism. It’s time for journalists like Stephanopoulos to do better and treat all individuals with the respect they deserve.
