Stephen Colbert just can’t seem to quit Donald Trump. Night after night, he drones on with anti-Trump tirades, thinking his tired act is still clever. But even the liberal Hollywood crowd is waking up. When left-wing critics say Colbert’s endless Trump obsession makes for “not very good TV,” you know his shtick has completely lost its luster.
This is what happens when late-night comedy becomes a never-ending therapy session for the radical left. Instead of entertaining Americans, Colbert has turned his show into a boring echo chamber. He acts like bashing Trump is an act of bravery, but all he’s doing is preaching to a shrinking audience of liberal elites who can’t get over the 2016 election. The rest of the country just rolls its eyes.

Colbert’s joke? It’s gotten old. Regular Americans are tired of listening to yet another multimillionaire celebrity pretend he’s fighting the system, while he cashes his paychecks from the same Hollywood machine that props him up. Is this supposed to be “comedy”? All it sounds like is another sore loser desperate to stay relevant by dragging out his anti-Trump material well past the expiration date.
Of course, this is the left’s favorite trick: They claim to stand for “diversity” and “fresh ideas,” then obsess over the same tired talking points as their ratings plummet. Where’s the bravery in attacking the one guy Hollywood hates? Colbert and his pals have no interest in actually entertaining a broad audience—they just want applause from the liberal clique in their audience. Good luck with that.
Americans deserve better than the endless parade of anti-Trump wokesters pretending to be funny. Maybe if Colbert actually told a fresh joke, he wouldn’t have to worry about critics calling him out. Or is it just too hard for Hollywood to realize: attacking Trump isn’t edgy—it’s just lazy.
