Stephen King Attacks Trump for Labor Day While Ignoring Biden’s Lengthy Vacations

Stephen King appears to have fallen into the classic leftist trap of projecting his own shortcomings onto others. In his recent Twitter tirade on Labor Day, the famed author took aim at Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, suggesting their lack of campaigning on the holiday somehow proved they were indifferent to the working class. It is ironic coming from a celebrated novelist whose plotlines often feature characters engaging in elusiveness. One would expect King to appreciate a good unexplained absence, given his expertise in the uncanny.

King’s comments come amid the backdrop of President Joe Biden’s vacation record. Since taking office in January 2021, Biden has seemingly crafted a second career as a vacationer, reportedly spending around 40 percent of his presidency in leisure. By any stretch of imagination, that’s quite a track record, even for a politician. Meanwhile, anyone paying attention knows that Biden has been known to trade daily briefings for beach time, leading many to wonder exactly who is steering the ship during these extended absences.

When challenged on Biden’s own lengthy break from duty prior to Labor Day, King’s retort was that the President was “doing his job.” Unfortunately for his argument, one simply cannot overlook the fact that Biden’s “job” has included numerous escapades to picturesque locations, the most recent being a backyard retreat in Delaware after a trip to California. While he was lounging, the nation witnessed the brutal anniversary of the tragic Afghanistan withdrawal—the event that cost 13 service members their lives—an event that receives little more than a perfunctory written acknowledgment from the Commander-in-Chief.

In stark contrast, Trump, who has faced relentless scrutiny from the media and political opponents alike, honored the sacrifices of those 13 heroes by laying a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. One really has to question the audacity of any criticism aimed at Trump for this gesture, especially when compared to the Biden camp’s penchant for feigned concern and hollow rhetoric. When it comes to genuine respect for the working class, it seems clear that Trump remains committed to more than just words and photo ops.

Despite the pomp and circumstance of Biden and Harris’s campaign efforts aimed at union audiences, it’s painfully evident that their policies have shackled the very workers they profess to support. Instead of alleviating burdens with regulation rollbacks or fostering a business-friendly climate, the Biden administration has paradoxically contributed to an economic environment where businesses—along with their employees—struggle to survive. The disjointed efforts to showcase support for the working class fall flat when confronted with the reality of decisions that continuously undermine their livelihood.

As voters prepare for the upcoming election, the choice will be stark. On one side, they will face a party that has spent years prioritizing vacation time over governance, while on the other lies the steadfast dedication to service, even under fire, evident in Trump’s memorial efforts and previous successes. The questions surrounding Biden and Harris’s commitment to working Americans should weigh heavily as the ballot approaches and the facade of concern begins to crack under scrutiny.
