It’s always amusing to see a new candidate fall flat on their face. On Tuesday, Francis Suarez, a rising presidential candidate, appeared on Hugh Hewitt's radio show and showed a complete lack of understanding of the world.
During the interview, he was asked if he would be able to address the Uyghurs, and he quickly responded that he didn't know what they were. His lack of knowledge about the genocide that has been going on in China for years is simply ridiculous.
China's Communist Party (CCP) has been holding camps for the Uyghurs, a Muslim minority group. It is very alarming that a candidate for the Republican nomination would not know about this.

This is just one of the many mistakes that Suarez has made in his short career. He recently criticized the expansion of a law in Florida that protects students from being sexuallyized or taught about gender identity. Despite his lack of knowledge about the world, he is still conservative.
Although Suarez isn't the first candidate to make a mistake during an interview, his lack of knowledge is very disheartening. Does the Republican field benefit from the sudden emergence of more obscure candidates? I'm not sure if he's a good fit for the party's current voters, as he doesn't seem to care about protecting children and thinks that presidential politics is just a dating show.
It is clear that Suarez is not presidential material, and he should stop running for office and focus instead on running a lemonade stand.
