In yet another example of left-wing outrage culture run amok, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has come under fire for making a joke about the absurd idea that women can have male anatomy. Sunak, a staunch conservative, was speaking to his fellow Tories when he noted that Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, “has been very busy” trying to convince everyone that women can indeed have penises.

Of course, this is patently ridiculous, and anyone with even a modicum of sense and understanding of biology knows it. Sunak himself didn’t even make this point explicitly but rather made a clever joke that implicitly called out Davey’s support for trans rights. But as usual, the snowflakes on the left were triggered, with Labour MP Kate Osborne decrying the joke as “disgusting,” and LGBT charity Stonewall whining that “no community should be the butt of a joke.”

As usual, though, the truth has been twisted and obscured by the leftist media and politicians. Sunak has been a vocal advocate for transgender rights and has repeatedly emphasized the importance of treating people questioning their identity with dignity and respect. His joke was not directed at trans people but at Davey, a political opponent whose views Sunak finds absurd and dangerous.
It’s telling that the left would be so quick to side with someone like Davey, who is willing to sacrifice scientific fact and common sense on the altar of political correctness. But this is par for the course in today’s woke culture, where the only thing that matters is being on the “right” side of history and making sure no one’s feelings get hurt.
Thankfully, Sunak is not afraid to stand up for reality and common sense, even in the face of screeching leftists who can’t handle the truth. His joke was not only funny and clever, but it also sent an important message about the importance of putting scientific fact above political ideology. Kudos to Sunak for having the courage to speak truth to power!
