Sunny Hostin’s Nonsense: Wealthy Blacks Harmed by Slavery?

On "The View," Sunny Hostin made another controversial statement about race relations. She claimed that educational disparities are caused by historical racism and that white kids are more advantaged than their black counterparts.

According to Hostin, the experiences of white kids growing up in places such as Appalachia and potato farms are different from those of African-American students. She goes on to imply that all white kids have a privileged life, while African-American kids suffer unfairly. This is both ridiculous and detached from reality.

In addition, she claimed that the education system in the US is influenced by the country's history of slavery. She also stated that regardless of one's wealth, African-American students are still affected by slavery because the country was founded on it. This is simply untrue, as slavery was abolished a hundred years ago. Proponents of this claim are trying to stir up racial tensions, and claiming that the current state of the country is directly caused by slavery is just a cheap attempt to do so.

The scrutiny that Hostin's past has brought to "The View" is warranted. Her constant use of divisive rhetoric and false narratives is only exacerbating the divide in the country. Instead of facilitating constructive discourse, she chooses to make inflammatory remarks that only further divide us.

It's time for Sunny Hostin to take responsibility for her platform and stop making inflammatory and baseless claims. Americans deserve better than this type of discourse, and it's time for her to reevaluate how she contributes to the discussion.
