In light of the recent Supreme Court decision striking down race-based discrimination in college admissions, there has been quite a stir among different groups of people. While the woke left and media are having absolute meltdowns, conservatives and sane-minded legal scholars are celebrating both the ruling and Justice Clarence Thomas’ epic takedown of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s arguments. It’s clear that the decision has caused a deep divide in opinions.
One person who had a strong reaction to the ruling was former First Lady Michelle Obama. In her statement, she expressed her disappointment for young people who may now feel uncertain about their future. She also made the argument that black students can’t get ahead without affirmative action, which is simply not true. It’s ridiculous to think that one’s race determines their ability to succeed. Furthermore, she argued that if it’s okay for “money/power/privilege” to be a factor in college admissions, then it should be okay to discriminate against white and Asian-American students. This kind of thinking is flawed and justifies discrimination against certain groups. Michelle Obama seems to have forgotten how far she has come in her own life, thanks to her husband’s accomplishments and the privileges they both enjoyed as President and First Lady.
“Fox Across America” host Jimmy Failla summed up the absurdity of Michelle Obama’s statement perfectly in a tweet, thanking her for having the courage to complain about black people not being able to get ahead from one of her three mansions. It’s ironic how someone with so much privilege can claim that others are at a disadvantage.
Speaking of irony, Senator Elizabeth Warren’s reaction to the Supreme Court decision is noteworthy. She attempted to be a beneficiary of affirmative action herself by falsely claiming to be an American Indian. Sean Davis from the Federalist called her out on this, pointing out that she can no longer benefit from her false representation. It’s hypocritical for Elizabeth Warren to criticize a ruling that undermines affirmative action when she herself has used it to her advantage.

Finally, there’s Gene Wu, a Texas Democrat state legislator, who took foolishness and obnoxiousness to a whole new level. He argued that even though the Supreme Court decision benefits Asian-Americans, it somehow promotes “white supremacy.” Wu’s tweets are filled with outrageous claims and language. It’s astonishing that he would try to argue that a ruling in favor of Asian-American litigants is racist simply because racist individuals may agree with the ruling. His comparison to a feminist calling a ruling in favor of gender segregation in sports “misogynistic” is just nonsensical.
Moments like these, when landmark rulings are handed down, reveal the true colors of the activist left. They expose their flawed reasoning and their willingness to make baseless arguments. It’s both entertaining and enlightening to witness their reactions. This Supreme Court decision has once again reaffirmed who the woke left really is and what they stand for.
