Supreme Court Backs Trump on Venezuelan Deportations in 5-4 Decision

In a delightful turn of events for law and order and a solid slap in the face to judges looking to overreach their authority, the Supreme Court has given the Trump Administration the green light to enforce the Alien Enemies Act against Venezuelan nationals, including members of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang. Who says the judiciary is impervious to a good dose of common sense?

In a razor-thin 5-4 decision, the justices agreed to vacate a previous order that was keeping these noncitizens from getting what they rightly deserve: a swift trip back to their homeland—or, in this case, a one-way ticket to El Salvador’s famed mega prison. The court made it clear that if anyone wants to challenge the administration’s power to use this 18th century law, they need to do it in Texas. Sorry, Washington, but the Lone Star State has the final say in keeping America safe.

The dissenting side, comprised of the three usual suspects—Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson—was joined by Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who decided to lean into her liberal friends with a partial dissent. Barrett’s reasoning that the majority’s decision is “dangerous” rivals the kind of logic you’d expect to hear from a teenager arguing why they shouldn’t have to do their homework on a Friday night.

Attorney General Pam Bondi hailed the ruling as a monumental victory for the rule of law, dismantling the misguided notion that a pen-pushing judge in deep blue D.C. could usurp the authority of a sitting president to handle national security. Law and order advocates everywhere had to be smiling while she pointed out that even the thickest bureaucratic red tape can be cut through when the rightful authorities are allowed to do their jobs.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wasted no time in trumpeting the ruling as a “massive victory for law and order.” Her assurance to the American people was crystal clear: the administration is set to unleash its efforts to deport these gang members swiftly. Anyone betting against Trump on this one is likely holding a losing hand; the Alien Enemies Act is back in action, and that spells trouble for would-be violent offenders thinking they could find a safe haven here.

While this ruling certainly gives the Trump Administration a much-needed boost, they still have to navigate the minefield of leftist activists, outrageous media narratives, and those pesky liberal judges who think they can call the shots on national security. However, as long as the courts continue to validate Trump’s actions, the fight for a safer America seems to be far from over. Here’s to hoping that the old adage holds true: what goes around, comes around—and in this case, it seems, deportation is back in fashion.
