In a shocking turn of events, it has been revealed that Rep. Eric Swalwell, a Democrat from California and member of the Judiciary Committee, played a role in helping Hunter Biden avoid his closed-door testimony before the House Oversight Committee. Swalwell not only stood right by Hunter Biden during his press conference at the Capitol, but he also reserved the spot for the first son to deliver his remarks. This is a blatant example of a member of Congress assisting a subpoenaed witness in evading responsibility.
What’s even more troubling is that President Joe Biden himself was aware of Hunter’s surprise appearance and Swalwell’s involvement. It seems that the Biden family and their allies will stop at nothing to protect Hunter and the cloud of corruption that looms over him. Swalwell defended his actions by claiming that there is “absolutely zero evidence” of corruption on the part of Hunter or his father. But the facts speak for themselves.

The House Oversight Committee has received sworn testimony from Hunter’s former business associate, Devon Archer, who stated that Joe Biden was “the brand” for Hunter’s shady business dealings. This contradicts Swalwell’s baseless claim that there is no evidence of corruption. It’s clear that Swalwell and other Democrats are more interested in protecting their own agenda than holding the Biden family accountable for their actions.
It’s concerning to see social media trends, like “#GoodForHunter,” celebrating Hunter Biden’s evasion of his subpoena. But it’s even more troubling to see a sitting member of Congress who sits on one of the committees investigating the Biden family aiding in this behavior. Swalwell’s actions undermine the credibility of these committees and the integrity of our justice system.
This is not the first time that Swalwell and other Democrats have made absurd claims to defend President Biden and his son. They have tried to twist the narrative, suggesting that impeachment efforts are motivated by a love for his son or a desire to overturn the 2020 election. It’s a desperate attempt to deflect from the mounting evidence against the Bidens and the serious allegations of corruption.
Chairman James Comer and Rep. Jim Jordan have made it clear that Hunter Biden was expected to show up for his closed-door testimony and would face contempt of Congress charges if he failed to do so. It’s time for accountability. The American people deserve transparency and honesty from their elected officials, regardless of their party affiliation. Swalwell’s actions only further erode trust in our government and highlight the need for true conservative leadership.
