Once upon a time, it seemed that Democrats were fervent defenders of America’s reputation, or at least they pretended to be. Any slip-up from a Republican president—like mispronouncing “nuclear” or sending out a mean tweet—was met with frantic hand-wringing and a theatrical rending of clothes. The political landscape was rife with dire warnings about how these faux pas were eroding America’s standing in the world. Fast forward to today, and one has to wonder where that same vigor went.
Today, the Taliban is literally strutting around in American gear, flaunting weapons that were abandoned thanks to a Democrat’s hasty decision. This hardly seems like the sort of reputation-boosting moment that the Democrats were once so concerned about. Instead, it’s a parade of humiliation that makes one long for the days of “nuclear” debates—or at least, when America looked like it was still in charge.

Despite this disastrous outcome, the Democrats are bullish about convincing the populace to keep them in control. They’d like the American people to believe that it’s the past president who poses a greater threat, while the current leadership clumsily tries to project an image of competence. Meanwhile, the world watches as the Taliban parades around with the evidence of the Biden-Harris administration’s catastrophic decisions.
The evidence is glaring: only a leader like Trump could evoke a sense of strength and security during turbulent times. The Democrats’ narrative is breaking down under the weight of their own failures. American standing on the global stage won’t survive another term of leadership that seemingly sets the groundwork for more parades of shame. With the stakes this high, it’s clear: America needs competent leadership, and Democrats simply can’t provide it.
