Target is facing some serious consequences for its divisive political and social goals. Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary called the company’s downfall a “stunning collapse” that should serve as a wake-up call to corporate America. And now, former Trump adviser Stephen Miller’s legal nonprofit, America First Legal, is suing Target on behalf of an investor who lost half of his $28,000 investment.
The investor, Brian Craig, points to Target’s ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) mandates as the cause of the company’s downfall. He argues that Target’s embrace of the radical transgender agenda, with its “Pride” marketing campaign, caused a $12 billion collapse in share value.

But this isn’t the first time Target’s management has put its leftist agenda ahead of its customers and shareholders. In 2016, after North Carolina passed a law to protect women and girls from biological men in bathrooms, Target released a “Pride Manifesto” and allowed anyone to use restrooms and fitting rooms based on their gender identity. The backlash was massive, but Target’s CEO defended the decision instead of apologizing.
Additionally, Target has been pushing for “supplier diversity” and race-based hiring, all in the name of appeasing the woke elites. They have misled investors, assuring them that they take social and political issues seriously, but in reality, they only care about pleasing their extremist stakeholders.
It’s about time someone stood up to these corporations that pander to the left. America First Legal is leading the charge, holding Target accountable for its actions. And it’s not just the lawsuit that Target has to worry about; the company also reported a decline in sales, a direct result of their divisive agenda. Target’s CEO may be “applying what they learned,” but it might be too little, too late. Corporate America needs to wake up and realize that putting politics over profits is a dangerous game.
