Texas Allocates $11.6B to Expand Border Wall and Security Efforts

Texas Governor Abbott has been hard at work securing the border with Mexico through Operation Lone Star. In the past three years, Texas has managed to install over 100 miles of concertina wire, aiming to prevent illegal entry. Despite facing legal challenges from the Biden administration, Governor Abbott has stood firm in his mission to defend Texas’ border rights, arguing that the president has neglected congressional laws for border security. With over $11.6 billion allocated to Operation Lone Star, Texas is determined to secure its borders, with $3.1 billion specifically directed towards expanding border barriers and infrastructure, including the construction of a Texas border wall.

Not only is Texas using taxpayers’ funds for this endeavor, but it has also received significant donations from concerned Americans. As a result, Texas has amassed over $55.4 million in donations for its border wall and security efforts. Governor Abbott is committed to using every available resource, including social media, to showcase the ongoing construction of the Texas border wall. The state’s Military Operations Base is also being expanded to accommodate more troops, with a recent announcement of a forward operating base camp housing up to 2,300 soldiers.

The Texas National Guard soldiers are working tirelessly to reinforce newly installed concertina wire and stop illegal migrants from entering the United States. With the help of Task Force West, they are maintaining and expanding the barriers to impede illegal activity. Governor Abbott’s appointed Border Czar, Mike Banks, has been instrumental in directing Operation Lone Star efforts, recognizing the constant challenges posed by the cartels and the difficult political terrain.

Furthermore, Texas has successfully managed to push illegal entry westward into New Mexico, Arizona, and California, effectively curbing the inflow of illegal immigrants into the state. Governor Abbott and his team have no plans to back down, intending to maintain and expand their control over the border to protect Texans and Americans. With a bill filed in Congress requesting reimbursement for Texas’ border security efforts, it is clear that the Lone Star State is not alone in recognizing the importance of securing the border and protecting the nation.
