Texas Democrats have shown their true colors once again. When they don’t get their way, they run away like spoiled children. About 50 Democratic lawmakers fled to New York and Illinois to block Republicans from voting on new congressional maps.
Behind this childish stunt are two familiar faces: failed presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke and billionaire George Soros. O’Rourke’s group Powered by People is paying for the Democrats’ flights and hotels. Soros-backed groups are also sending money to keep this circus going.
The same Democrats who spent years crying about gerrymandering are now throwing a tantrum when Republicans try to draw fair maps. They called it wrong when others did it, but now they’re doing everything they can to stop the legal process. This is pure hypocrisy at its worst.
These runaway Democrats are costing taxpayers money while they hide out in luxury hotels. They’re facing 500-dollar daily fines for skipping work, but their rich donors are covering those too. Meanwhile, hardworking Texans are stuck paying for this political theater.
President Trump has called out their shameful behavior and even suggested federal law enforcement might need to get involved. He’s right that you can’t just sit out when democracy doesn’t go your way. That’s not how America works.
Texas Republicans are trying to follow the law and do their jobs while Democrats play games. The GOP wants to create districts that reflect Texas values and give conservatives the representation they deserve. Democrats can’t stand that Texas keeps getting more Republican.
This whole mess proves that Democrats only care about rules when those rules help them win. When Republicans use the same tactics Democrats have used for decades, suddenly it’s unfair. They’re hypocrites who hate democracy when it doesn’t serve their agenda.
Texans see right through this pathetic display. They elected Republicans to lead, not to be blocked by crybaby Democrats who run away when they lose. It’s time for these lawmakers to come home and face the music like adults.
