Dana Rivers, who was 68 years old at that time, was incarcerated in California after he was found guilty of committing a heinous and cruel act against women. He was born David Warfield and was a transgender teacher. In 2016, he killed a couple and their adopted child in Oakland.
In 2021, a law was passed in California allowing transgender inmates to live in facilities that correspond with their gender identity. This has been called a controversial issue, as men such as Rivers could potentially go into female prisons to harm the other inmates.
The Washington Post reported that Rivers' crime was labeled as a hate crime against women. He killed Charlotte Reed, his wife Patricia Wright, and their adopted son from Africa. After the incident, Rivers was apprehended by the police with a can of gasoline.
According to Kara Dansky, a feminist activist, Rivers' actions were fueled by a deep-seated hatred toward women. This has led to speculations that he should have been sent to a women's prison instead of a men's facility, which could expose other female inmates to danger.
Rivers' case is not the only one involving biological males who claim to be women. In August, it was reported that a man identified as Demi Minor had impregnated two female prisoners at a women's facility in California. This alarming development has raised concerns about the safety of female inmates.

Conservatives should stand up for women's rights, including their safety in prisons. We must also prevent individuals like Rivers from harming others. Because of this, laws that allow people like Rivers to be housed with women should be changed.
