A brave father in Los Angeles used his firearm to protect his family from two home invaders. The incident, caught on video, shows the father being accosted by two intruders as he approached his front door. The homeowner quickly pulled out his gun and engaged in a shootout with the intruders, forcing them to flee empty-handed. The father’s heroism and quick response potentially saved his family’s lives.

This story raises important questions about the restrictive gun laws in California. The state makes it difficult for responsible citizens to arm themselves, and this incident demonstrates the potential dangers of such laws. If this father had not been armed, the outcome could have been tragic. California needs to reevaluate its laws and prioritize the safety of its citizens.
Unfortunately, California’s gun control laws are only getting worse. The state recently passed more gun control laws, including microstamping technology requirements for new handgun models and additional regulations on concealed-carry permits. Governor Gavin Newsom has also imposed an 11 percent tax on gun vendors and manufacturers to fund school safety and gun violence intervention. These measures only make it harder for responsible citizens to protect themselves and their families.
Furthermore, California is now the only state in the nation to impose an excise tax on firearms and ammunition on top of the existing federal excise tax. This tax, aimed at firearms and ammunition dealers, will increase the price of guns and ammo across the state. The money generated from this tax is supposed to fund school safety programs and youth and gang prevention programs. However, there are no safeguards in place to ensure that the money is actually spent on these programs.
These restrictive laws and excessive taxes are costing responsible Californians their lives. When the government makes it difficult for people to defend themselves, it leaves them vulnerable to criminals who don’t follow the law. It’s time for California’s government to prioritize the safety and rights of its citizens and reconsider its gun control measures. Every person should have the ability to protect themselves and their loved ones.
