The Trump administration is finally cracking down on a dangerous mess that Pennsylvania and other liberal-run states created by letting foreign nationals, some with serious criminal and terrorist ties, get behind the wheels of massive commercial trucks. The Department of Transportation is threatening to cut off millions in federal funding to Pennsylvania because it handed out commercial driver’s licenses to ineligible foreigners without checking if they were here legally. This isn’t just about paperwork—this is about national security and the safety of every American family on the roads.
How did Pennsylvania get to this point? The state threw open its CDL program to foreigners living in the country illegally, with little to no oversight. One caught driver was a known criminal from Uzbekistan with ties to terrorist activities, allowed to drive 40-ton trucks across our highways. This is the dangerous result of Biden’s open-border chaos, which has flooded America with tens of millions of illegal migrants. And liberal states like Pennsylvania have the nerve to defend this reckless handout of licenses? It’s no surprise they’re playing defense now as federal officials clamp down.

The Trump Department of Transportation is demanding immediate reforms—suspending all non-domiciled CDL issuance, conducting audits, and pulling unqualified drivers off the road. Yet Pennsylvania officials claim they’ve done nothing wrong, saying federal audits found no ineligible licenses among hundreds checked. This is either willful blindness or outright disinformation. If the system was sound, why did they let a known terrorist truck driver pass through the cracks in the first place?
Meanwhile, California faces similar punishments for refusing to follow basic federal rules requiring English proficiency for non-citizen commercial drivers—rules aimed at protecting American lives from preventable accidents caused by unsafe drivers who can’t communicate properly on our roads. Of course, liberal activists and politicians are fighting tooth and nail against measures that prioritize American safety over unchecked immigration. They sue, delay, and ignore warnings, putting political virtue signaling above national security.
The Trump administration is doing what it must: standing up to states that put the interests of illegal migrants ahead of American lives. No taxpayer dollars should support states that knowingly license thousands of unqualified, potentially dangerous foreign nationals to operate big rigs. If Pennsylvania and others want to keep federal funds, they’ll need to get serious about protecting our borders, our roads, and our families. The question is—will the rest of America wake up to this threat before another tragedy strikes? Or will Democrats keep their reckless policies while American citizens pay the price?
