Democrats have perfected the art of using so-called anchor babies as human shields, bringing in pregnant women over the border just in time to deliver and then erupting in simulated outrage when anyone suggests that their parents should face the consequences for breaking the law. They misinterpret the Fourteenth Amendment, arguing it grants rights that were originally intended for legal immigrants and former slaves to anyone who can take a mere step onto American soil. The absurdity of legislating against common sense would make anyone chuckle, except, of course, when it’s used to protect the very individuals who violate U.S. immigration laws.
Trump highlighted this flawed logic during a recent discussion, stressing that it’s ridiculous to hand out citizenship like candy to anyone who sets foot on American soil, including those who arrived unlawfully.
