In a move that has certain circles of the liberal media scrambling for their fainting couches, President Donald J. Trump has announced a sweeping initiative to oust all remaining U.S. Attorneys appointed during the Biden administration. This bold gesture is just the latest effort to clear out what Trump refers to as ‘holdover cancer’ that has plagued his first term. It appears that he is determined to avoid the pitfalls that hamstrung his policies before, insisting that a new presidency must not be bogged down by the remnants of the old guard.
The President’s call for immediate resignations isn’t exactly unprecedented; previous administrations have engaged in similar house-cleaning rituals. However, the left seems poised to crank up the outrage machine, claiming this is a scandalous overreach. History speaks for itself! Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush both made similar moves, while Bill Clinton famously cleared out his appointees back in ‘93, setting a precedent many would deem routine; yet here we are, poised for yet another media meltdown, courtesy of Trump.

While the mainstream press may treat this like the Second Coming of Watergate, the reality is that Trump’s latest strategy resonates with many Americans. Polls indicate that the efficiency he’s pushing for is, surprisingly enough, actually popular—even among some Democrats. The idea of shaking things up, of breaking down antiquated systems, seems to have a broad appeal. Perhaps it’s because the frustration with bureaucratic sluggishness transcends party lines.
Nonetheless, the liberal narrative has had a field day, with commentators like NBC’s Frank Figliuzzi, a former FBI agent, claiming Trump is invoking unsavory figures. Such accusations are about as ridiculous as they are predictable. Labeling every Trump action as politically charged or downright outrageous has become a favorite pastime for certain “analysts.” It’s almost as if they are working off a script at this point, complete with over-the-top hyperbole that would make a soap opera seem tame.
As this announcement unfolds, it is reasonable to expect that the usual suspects in the media will trot out their finest doomsday predictions about a lawless America. Will alarm bells ring about the impending chaos from the left? Of course. But upon closer inspection, it’s clear that America, with all its issues, is still ready for some tough decisions. The “break stuff” mentality may just be what is needed to get the country back on track—cleaning house at the Department of Justice can be seen as the first step towards restoring actual confidence in our judicial system. The left can scream all they want, but it appears that a fair number of Americans are cheering for a little order amidst the chaos.
