Trump Appoints Texas Conservative Brooke Rollins as Secretary of Agriculture

President-elect Donald Trump has made a splash with his appointment of Brooke Rollins as Secretary of Agriculture, and it’s clear that he’s bringing in the heavy hitters for team America. Rollins hails from the small town of Glen Rose, Texas, where they grow corn and tea party cred in equal measure. In Trump’s eyes, she embodies the hardworking spirit vital for focusing on American farmers and preserving the heartland.

Trump’s excitement for Rollins is palpable, as he touted her commitment to boosting “American Food Self-Sufficiency” and reviving agriculture-dependent small towns. One can only imagine the scene—Trump, corn dog in one hand, pointing out the importance of homegrown tomatoes while Rollins nods in fervent agreement. It’s a vision that undoubtedly appeals to every farmer who’s more interested in tilling the land than being tied up with bureaucratic nonsense.

Rollins isn’t just a small-town girl who came to the big leagues; she’s also decorated with the kind of credentials that make the liberal elite clutch their lattes in despair. As a proud graduate of Texas A&M with degrees in Agriculture Development and law—with honors, no less—she has the education to back her work boots. Her experience runs the full gamut from leading roles in Future Farmers of America to being the guiding light for her four kids in their show cattle ventures. A true Renaissance woman of the ranching world, she seems prepared to tackle the agricultural challenges ahead with both enthusiasm and expertise.

Before stepping into this new role, Rollins honed her skills as the Acting Director of the Domestic Policy Council. Many might recall her role in the Economic Advisory Council — a nice little line on her resume that had critics of the Trump administration gnashing their teeth. Rollins has proven time and again that she can stand firm against the pressures of D.C. politics, particularly when Joe Biden’s policies are concerned, which she has vigorously opposed. Her $10 million anti-Biden campaign in 2021 showcased her willingness to go toe-to-toe with liberal policies while uplifting conservative values.

One of the real plot twists in Rollins’ story is her loyalty to Trump when the winds of politics shifted dramatically and many abandoned him. While others were quick to jump ship, Rollins remained a steadfast defender. She quipped that while some former Trump officials have taken the easy way out by sharing negative comments about the administration, there are hundreds ready to jump back into the fray should Trump call upon them again. That kind of loyalty is exactly what conservatives are looking for in a government official, proving that Rollins is not just another suit in the corner office but a principled voice ready to support America’s agricultural backbone.
