After the big “Liberation Day” spectacle on April 2, the anti-Trump media brigade immediately began scribbling out obituaries for his administration, hoping to cast a pall over the return of the Trump era. But it turns out that the average American isn’t quite on the same page as the mainstream media’s narrative.
A recent survey by DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners, boasting input from over 1,000 registered voters, reveals that Trump’s approval ratings might be climbing faster than a cat up a tree. His popularity has enjoyed a four-point bounce, rising from 49% to 53%. Even in the notoriously fickle 18-29 demographic, support has soared by a whopping 13 points since early March. It appears that young voters are suddenly not so hesitant to wave their MAGA hats around.
Surprisingly, even Democrats and independents are showing signs of warming up to Trump’s policies. Yes, his approval rating has shot up six points among these groups—there must be something in the water, or perhaps they’re just sick of the same ol’ tired talking points. While the poll period coincided with the latest chatter about Trump’s tariff plan, which some have described as rabidly opposed, the people surveyed showed an open-mindedness toward the president’s proposals.
